Unboxing

One of the major parts of my job is that I am constantly having to audit hardware platforms to see if we can cut a better deal, or improve what our offering is.

Today, I present the Pritom TronPad L10; straight from the Chinese supplier.

From initial appearances, this little guy is pretty great for a low-end tablet. Considering it comes in at only 1.14 lbs, the basics are pretty solid. The spec sheets say it has WXGA (1280x800) IPS Screen, powered by an octa-core 64 Bit Cortex-A55 based UNISOC SC9863A and with 3Gb of RAM.

It should have decent performance across most applications, and the 6000mAh battery is good for a tablet of this weight. One downside is it is only running Android 10, so not the latest and greatest, but that’s at least still in our target version range.

The specs don’t lie. This is a pretty decent tablet for the price; considering you can get one for $119.00 off of Amazon today. The screen is nice and bright, the fit and finish feels well put together and polished; and the 5MP front facing camera is decent.

The internal mic picks up sound pretty well, but audio output is where this tablet falls down. From the front, with music playing, I only picked up 60dB of sound. Not adequate for my uses, unfortunately.

Sadly, looks like another what-would-be decent tablet destined for the drawer of failure.
